When everything seems blissfully ordered...the need to know...

The New Year started off quite well for my liking. Somehow I feel something is going to happen. Something that I might not really like or least expecting to happen. I don't know why but I have this uneasy heaviness in way corner of my crazy heart when I 'm just contentedly happy with life right now. Something going to change the equilibrium. And I have a feeling; I'm unconsciously waiting for that to happen.

What and why? I don't know the answer. I've made amends and peace with my past but now I think the future is catching up with me. Real quick that more than once I felt suffocated. I don't feel safe in present because the disturbing unknown of the future that I'm struggling to shake off my mind from.

and somehow...as crazy as it seems...this all got to do with a drink from Starbucks Chocolate Cream Chips....somehow it will answer my nagging thoughts as my mind gets clouded each passing day with my craving for it..the need to know that I finally will get my Starbucks soon..

The long waited Baskin Ice cream...Love winnings bets..

On Tuesday, finally I got my long waited but worth the wait bet prize, my Baskin Robbins ice-cream from Nantha. He just returned from the land of the sun rise so haven't met him for almost a year. Just when I was thinking its going to be just three of us, Katlin whose back from Ausie, Nantha and myself, I was suprised to see a whole bunch of other friends. Prasad and Chandru plus with their matriculation friends; Sri and Yamuna.

I was so hungry by the time I reached Bangsar but I thought better not have anything heavy that's going to spoilt my ice-cream later. But, everyone decided they were hungry as well,so we headed to Devi's Corner to have dinner. Gulp!hehehe..food temptation is bad especially one is in a very bad hungry mode and planning to get the largest ice-cream in Baskin. Mentally calculating my capacity, I blurred out Maggie Mee Goreng!without giving my brain a moment to process further. Everyone else ordered the same food.Guess great minds think a like! Except, the smallest member of the group, Prasad, who ordered Banana Leaf meal at 7pm evening. But I still couldnt resist the vadai and Kerala fish curry combination  that Chandru ordered. It was awesome! I'm not an avid fish curry lover in this case any type of curry but thumbs up for this. We had quickie photo session at Devi's Corner before heading off to the Baskin Robbins.
Stepping into Baskin Robbins, I felt like a kid in Candy Shop with big excited eye and  an  ear to ear smile!Buckets and buckets of ice-cream of varieties of flavours and colours smilling and waving at me!Choose Me!Choose Me! I just can't make up my mind! If I had it my way I'l have one scoop of each flavour! But, bearing in my mind that not possible, I chose 3 scopes of my favourite flavour vanila with different combinations. Added on hot caramel and M&M. Simply mind blowing! Nantha just watched me, just smilling, maybe disbelieving what his eyes were witnessing..hahaha...I was really getting back at him for making me wait for so long for this. I paid for Katz ice-cream because I owe her for the riddle she anwered in Facebook sometime ago. Actually I never specified what ice-cream I'm going to buy her. Should have said the 20 sen ice-cream potong.Hehehe...

We hanged around in Baskin Robbins, catching up, enjoying the ice-cream and just clicking away the shutter. Finally, the time came to leave, Nantha and the girls send me to my house since 9.00pm was considered bit too late for me to be getting on a LRT(i seriously doubt that=P). Thanks everyone especially Nantha for buying me the ice-cream! You still owe me a Carls JR!and I'm getting that the next time your down here which would be MAY...

Aal Izz Wel=)

This is the sort of movie you’ll take home with a smile and a song on your lips! The impact of the film is so overwhelming that it left me spellbound for hours after it has ended. Actually even now I'm still thinking about it!

Based on Chetan Bhagat's novel, Five Point Someone, it's a story of three friends studying in an engineering college ICE, Rancho (Aamir Khan), Farhan (R Madhavan) and Raju (Sharman Joshi).Rancho is the rebel among them always questioning things and believing that learning is more than just the usual mode of education, living life on his own term. The definition of a book that he gave when was asked to leave the class for failing to define machine as  written in the textbook scene was hilarious.

He encourages his friends to look beyond the ordinary and soon earns the wrath of the college director Viru Sahasrabuddhe-Virus (Boman Irani). I loved Boman's character even when you tend to despise his steadfast view of how life is a race and dictatorship decisions. Loved Virus's and Rancho's chemistry throughout the movie. Rancho, despite the idiotic fun loving persona that he portrays, always surprises everyone by topping the class to much of Virus's irritation. He even manages to win the affections of the director's daughter Pia (Kareena Kapoor).I'm still laughing the scene where he first meets Pia crashing her sister's wedding reception and Virus turning out to be dad! The mint chutney and Pia's price tag fiancee scene was classic. But Rancho's greatest contribution lies is making his friends realise their true calling. Farhan; the wildlife photograher and Raju to stop fearing the future and live life as now. The twist came when on Graduation Day being awarded the Student Of The Year title, Rancho mysteriously disappears into oblivion.
Years later, Farhan and Raju, successful on their own,  finding a common thread(Chatur the Silencer), embark on a journey to find their friend in the way crashing yet another wedding. 3 Idiots is a story of friendship, hope, aspirations and most importantly, the goodness of life.

The film switches from present to flashback mode often but not once does it loses the momentum. There were scenes that made me laugh,  cry and  think.

3 Idiots is different because every scene is special and brings with it something out of ordinary.  There were a few that had a lasting impact on me, the entire ragging sequence(Salt water is a good electric conductor!); the camaraderie between Rancho and Pia(the way they saved Raju's dad with Pia's scooter and the dream sequences); Chatur's (the word 'chamatkaar' is changed to 'balatkaar' ) hilarious speech; the entire black-and-white depiction of Raju's family(so Zee drama like!); most of the scenes between  3 of them and Virus; the sequences that lead to Raju's recovery in the hospital.

Life is all about listening to your heart and chasing your dream. When in doubt just say Aal Izz Well!=P

And I'm getting the book as well since I have fallen in love with the movie; I might as well complete a full circle by falling in love with the Book!
